As many of you know, Roadkill is an amazingly awesome show that you can find on YouTube! But if you don’t know about it let me tell you. It’s an adventurous automotive show that happens to air on the Motor Trend Channel on YouTube. There are two hosts for this excellent show which know exactly what they are talking about… Mike Finnegan and David Freiburger happen to be very knowledgeable and eager to share their excitement, experience and enjoyment of the hot rods they share with the world. What’s the best part of Roadkill? From challenges to the hosts driving a tank over a Prius and even driving a vintage cars to great destinations… this show has what anyone that has a great affinity for cars, hot rods and great tricks in such vehicles wants to see.
This internet show premiered in February of 2012. This show was part of the beginning effort on the part of YouTube to give a great mix of traditional media players and Hollywood… it’s what some call a real reality show, and the amount of views shows just how real and popular it is. Roadkill has on average about 3 million views each episode. The audience of the show is always engaged in what is going on in the show and what could possibly happen that more and more people are joining the channel just to view the awesome show. Roadkill gives the opportunity to show that there are a lot of people that aren’t just collectors or connoisseurs of these classic vehicles but rather they are people who drive them, know how they run, what you can do in them, what’s under the hood and the mechanics of it all.
From this show they now have branched out to reach people in different areas. They have an excellent website in which you can look see different videos, look at some of the cars they are interested in and some they have worked on and built, what they call Roadkill Nation (where you can become a member and follower of the things and activities they are doing), and they even have an event calendar so you can see when they might be coming to an area near you. There are, of course, other aspects to the website but these are some that needed to be highlighted. They also have a very popular and active social media following (including YouTube); one of the better to mention is their Facebook page in which they currently have close to 1.2 million followers!
With such a great popularity of the show, they are now looking forward to branching out and Roadkill will also have a magazine. Because of the great success of the YouTube channel they wanted to have a print magazine that their viewers can subscribe to. Because of course there’s no better feeling than having a magazine in your hand describing in detail a topic you love so much.
